Mangaluru, Sept. 7, 2025: The State Tourism Department is working on framing a special tourism policy for the development of the coastal region, said Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V.
Speaking at the installation ceremony of the 2025–27 office-bearers of CREDAI Mangaluru Unit at Ocean Pearl auditorium on Saturday, the DC said Mangaluru has immense opportunities for rapid growth after Bengaluru and must be planned and developed accordingly.
“Like Mumbai and Goa, Mangaluru has vast potential for tourism development. While Mysuru, Belagavi, and Shivamogga have seen significant investments, Mangaluru has not received investments at the expected level. Coastal people, who have excelled globally, should also think about and invest in the city’s growth. If government policies pose hurdles, efforts will be made to resolve them. The district administration is ready to extend full cooperation to organizations like CREDAI,” he said.
CREDAI Karnataka president Bhaskar T. Nagendra administered the oath of office to the newly elected members. D.B. Mehta took charge as state unit president, while Vinod Pinto was re-elected as president of CREDAI Mangaluru. Other office-bearers include secretary Dheeraj Amin, treasurer S.M. Arshad, joint secretary Rohan Montero, vice-president Siraj Ahmed, and executive committee members Sudheesh, Gurumoorthy, Ganesh, and Gurudatta Shenoy.
Youth wing convener Prashanth Sanil, women’s wing convener Krutin Amin, and youth wing office-bearer Nishanth Seth also assumed office. CREDAI Mangaluru CEO Arjun Rao welcomed the gathering.
