Puttur, Jan 24, 2012 : The Uppinangady police have filed a first information report (FIR) against RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and Sangh Parivar members Karnakar Suvarna, Seetharam, Kishore Shirady, and Sheshapathi Rai for allegedly delivering provocative speeches against minority communities during the Hindu Samajotsava, held in Uppinangady on Jan 22 Sunday.
The police acted on the basis of a complaint lodged by Haji Mustaffa Kempi, the president of the Uppinangady Jumma Masjid.
The Uppinangady police have also lodged complaints against certain Sangh Parivar activists who participated in the Samajotsava and pelted stones on SI Sunil Kumar who was doing his duty near Uppinangady Shenoy Nursing Home. Allegedly, a group of over 200 activists had attacked the sub inspector.
The Hindu Samajotsava was held on January 22 Sunday, during which several provocative speeches were made leading to a clash between two groups. The police had to use their lathis to restore law and order in the area.
