ESI Hospital problems to be solved in 1 month, assures Yogesh Bhat

Mangalore, Oct 23, 2011: The Ahila Bharatha Karmika Sangha withdrew its hunger strike after N. Yogish Bhat, the deputy speaker of the Legislative Assembly, spoke to them and assured them that all the problems regarding ESI Hospital will be solved within one month. 


Sudatta Jain, the general secretary of ABSK, who launched the strike on Oct 18, marked the end of the strike, which had lasted 103 hours, by accepted a glass of orange juice from Mr. Bhat.


The ABSK has demanded immediate recruitment of doctors, proper infrastruction, check up facilities for ESI card holders in all hospitals, and so on.

Mr. Bhat instructed Dr. Ashok Kumar, the superintendent of the ESI, to take the required steps to solve all the issues. He also demanded to know why the X ray machine at the hospital was out of order in spite of the assurances given to the hospital a month back. He warned that this issue will be discussed in cabinet if it is not set right immediately. 


Mr. Jain also warned that another intense protest will be staged in front of Mr. Bhat’s house if the issue is not solved.
