Kundapur, Jun 15, 2026: Police have arrested a man from Gujarat in connection with a house burglary and a two-wheeler theft reported under the jurisdiction of the Kundapur Police Station.
The accused has been identified as Lalajibhai Budabhai Solanki (37), a resident of Saver Kundla taluk in Amreli district of Gujarat.
Background of the case:
On the night of March 18, burglars allegedly broke into a house near Sangam Junction in Kundapur and decamped with cash amounting to Rs 10,000. A case in this regard was registered at the Kundapur Police Station. On the same day, another case was registered following the theft of a two-wheeler that had been parked near Vinay Hospital in Kundapur.
During the course of the investigation, police traced the accused’s address and travelled to Saver Kundla in Amreli district, Gujarat. While searching for him there, they received information that he was staying in Murudeshwar in Uttara Kannada district. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the police apprehended the accused in Murudeshwar and subjected him to interrogation.
During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to his involvement in the house burglary and bike theft cases in Kundapur. Police have recovered the stolen two-wheeler from his possession.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of Kundapur DySP H.D. Kulkarni and Kundapur Police Station Inspector Jayaram D. Gowda. PSI Nanjanayak N. and PSI Pushpa, along with police personnel Mohan, Santosh, Prince, Mahabala Shettigar, Santosh Devadiga and Ghanshyam, participated in the operation.
