Minister Rao highlighted that the waterfront project was encountering certain issues that should have been addressed prior to finalizing the tenders for the works. He urged the district administration and Mangaluru Smart City Ltd. to engage in discussions with individuals holding specific portions of the land earmarked for the project, aiming to resolve any arising issues. The Minister also directed MSCL to ensure the provision of proper connecting roads for the promenade and adequate parking facilities.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Rao visited the work site of the Mahakalipadpu twin railway under bridge, which is part of the four-lane road project between Morgan’s Gate and Jeppinamogaru Cross on NH 66. He emphasized that the project is designed to facilitate seamless connectivity between the central business district and areas to the south of Mangaluru, including Ullal and Talapady.

Present at the inspections were MLCs Manjunatha Bhandary and K. Harish Kumar, Zilla Panchayat CEO K. Anandh, MSCL Managing Director K. Raju, former legislators J.R. Lobo, Ivan D’Souza, and other officials.
