Mangalore, July 17: “The central government is making mistakes in a fast-growing state like Karnataka,” declared Srikar Prabhu, the president of the BJP district ward, at a protest staged by the BJP Yuva Morcha at Clock Tower near Town Hall on July 17, Saturday. Despite the fact that the BJP-led state government is working for the welfare of backward and minority communities by implementing various schemes, the central government refuses to appreciate the efforts and blows minor issues out of proportion, he said.

The Congress is urging the central government to order a CBI probe into the illegal mining issue oblivious to the fact that the probe will reveal names of various Congress politicians involved in illegal mining activities. The Kashmir issue is the results of mistakes done by the Congress, he said. In spite of its mistakes, the Congress is blaming the BJP-led state government, which is busy working for the welfare of the state and trying to stop the menace of corruption.

The Congress, which is busy condemning Narendra Modi, must remember that no other chief minister has done as much work for the welfare of Gujarat as he has, said Mr. Prabhu. Speaking in praise of Mr. Modi, he said that Modi has attracted a large number of people in Gujarat because of his developmental work. He alleged that the Congress is silent about the fraudulent activities of Mr. Hansraj Alva, adding that the Congress is busy blaming BJP because it is afraid of losing its position in the forthcoming elections.

Sumana Sharan said that the sight of Congress activists wearing helmets in Assembly reminds her of daily wage earners. These activists wear helmets in Assembly because they know that people will pelt stones at them if they come out on the streets wearing them. Flaying the Congress activists for their foul behavior in Assembly, she said that sleeping and eating non-vegetarian food in Assembly is shameful.

Tilak Raj delivered the introductory speech. BJP District President Padmanabha Kottary, Sathish Kumpala, Kishore Kumar, Roopa Bangera, Shakila Kava, Chandrahas Ullal, and Rajesh Shetty also participated in the protest.
