BJP celebrates Dr. Mookerjee’s birthday

Mangalore, Jul 6: Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee’s birthday was celebrated in the Jagannath Rao Joshi Soudha at 10:30 a.m. Saplings were also planted on the occasion.

Padmanabha Kottari, the chairman of the district unit of BJP and ex MLA, spoke on the occasion and praised Dr. Mookerjee for his excellent qualities, which he said can inspire modern youth. He said that Dr. Mookerjee believed in constructing a national political party and founded the Jan Sangh, which was the forerunner of the BJP. He also called upon the youth to be volunteers in the BJP and serve the nation.

Speaking further about the ideals of Dr. Mookerjee, Mr. Kottari said that the ideals of Dr. Mookerjee have grown like a tall tree in the shade of which the BJP now dwells. He urged all present to construct the political party according to his principles.

Kumble Sunder Rao, the chairman of the Yakshagana Academy and ex MLA, spoke at length on the great personality of Dr. Mookerjee, who is also the founder of the India Hindu Mahasabha.
