Mangalore, Sep 14, 2013: The Dreamers Team of young technocrats from Sahyadri College of Engineering, Mangalore, has won the first place in the National Students Space Challenge -2013 for their innovative design of an `All-terrain vehicle for use on the surface of the moon.’ The event was held at the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur in West Bengal recently.

The award winning team was congratulated by Padma Bhushan and C. V. Raman Awardee Prof. B. V. Srikantan, a Researcher of international repute at a simple ceremony held at the college on September 13, Friday.
The 20 member Dreamers Team had prepared the model in a period of one month. The vehicle weighs 6.5 kg. Johnson Tellis, Captain of the team said the model will also be displayed at the National IIT event to be held at Chennai shortly.
Johnson who gave a demonstration of the vehicle, with his team mates said a sum of Rs 18600 has been spent on the vehicle. Dreamers team included Fadil Lukman, Gautham Nayak and Aman Agarwal among others. The team was guided by Prof. Abdul Karim, Associate Professor of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Division.
