Mangaluru, May 7, 2026: After days of intense heat and humidity, people in Dakshina Kannada district got some relief as unseasonal rain lashed several parts of the region on Thursday morning.
Rain began around 8 am and continued for some time across the taluk, bringing down temperatures and providing respite to residents who had been struggling with the harsh summer heat.
The day had started with cloudy weather, and the subsequent rainfall created a cooler atmosphere in the region.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds accompanied by rain at isolated places across various parts of Karnataka over the next seven days. The department has predicted light to moderate rainfall in several districts of the state till May 12, with heavy rain likely in some areas.
