Karnataka lokayukta raids 8 government officials in disproportionate assets cases

Bengaluru, Sep 22, 2026: Karnataka Lokayukta police on Tuesday conducted surprise raids at the premises linked to eight government officials in connection with disproportionate assets (DA) cases, officials said.

The raids were carried out simultaneously at multiple locations across Karnataka, including Bengaluru, Chikkaballapura, Bidar and Madikeri.

The officials under investigation are:

Darshan Gowda, First Division Assistant (FDA), Chikkaballapura Deputy Commissioner’s office
Ranganath H.M. (Retd.), Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), BBMP, Bengaluru
Sridevi, District Registrar, Bengaluru
H.R. Ramesh, Municipal Commissioner, Madikeri
Kiran Kumar Baindur, AEE, HESCOM, Hubballi-Dharwad
Rajeshwari, AEE, GESCOM, Kalaburagi
Manik Rao, Assistant Director, Agriculture Department, Bidar
Shivaraju, Hostel Superintendent, Backward Classes Welfare Department, Mandya

According to sources, Lokayukta teams began the simultaneous searches early Tuesday morning. Officials are examining documents and other records as part of the investigation into alleged possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
