Bus fares rise by 37% on average
The Deepavali travel rush has pushed bus fares to popular destinations across Karnataka up by an average of nearly 37% on November 6 compared to regular days, with increases recorded across four service categories.

The fare for a Benz multi-axle sleeper service from Bengaluru to Mangaluru rose to Rs 1,196 from the regular Rs 873. The AC sleeper fare increased from Rs 999 to Rs 1,529, while KSRTC bus fares went up from Rs 579 to Rs 685.

Similarly, AC sleeper fares from Bengaluru to Kochi increased from Rs 1,600 to Rs 2,600, while AC seater/sleeper fares rose from Rs 859 to Rs 1,299.

Fares on services to Chennai increased to a maximum of Rs 1,797, compared to the regular range of Rs 1,300 to Rs 1,400.
