108 ambulance employees set deadline to government, threaten mass resignation

Bengaluru, Sep 22, 2026: Employees of the 108 ambulance service, who are protesting over various demands, have given the state government and Health Department another deadline, warning of collective resignation and suspension of services if their demands are not addressed by 8 pm on Tuesday.

The employees had earlier given the government 15 days to fulfil their demands, including an annual salary hike. With the deadline ending without a clear assurance from the government, they have now issued a fresh deadline.

“The government should take a clear decision on our demands by 8 pm on Tuesday. Otherwise, we will resign collectively and intensify the protest,” said R Sridhar, president of the 108 Ambulance Employees’ Association.

The employees are seeking salary revision, uniform pay for all staff, salary fixation based on seniority and payment of salaries by the seventh of every month, among other demands.

They have also demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the families of employees who die in accidents while on duty, rest rooms for staff and changes to shift timings.
