Mangaluru/Puttur, Feb 8, 2026: Konaje police, along with the Mangaluru South sub-division Anti-Drug Team, arrested a 21-year-old youth for allegedly selling banned MDMA in Ullal taluk.

The accused, identified as Jordan, son of Jeevan, was arrested during a raid at the Navagrama site in the Naryaguttu Guddha area of Balepuni village. Police seized 55 grams of MDMA, a mobile phone, a digital weighing machine and other materials from his possession. A native of Mandya district, he was staying in a rented house in Balepuni village. A case has been registered at Konaje police station under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is under way.
In a separate case, Puttur rural police arrested an Odisha resident, Deepak Patra (37), for allegedly supplying cannabis to peddlers operating in Dakshina Kannada district. Police seized 1.788 kg of cannabis, valued at ₹80,000, from him.
According to the police, the arrest followed the seizure of over 100 kg of cannabis worth ₹53.03 lakh and the arrest of two persons on January 19. Further investigation led to the arrest of D.K. Mohammed Fayaz (27) of Charmadi village and Nazir (42) of Kakkinje in Belthangady taluk for allegedly providing money and a vehicle for the operation. A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Pramod Kumar travelled to Odisha and arrested Patra, who had allegedly supplied the contraband.
