Mangaluru, Jul 23, 2026: Police have cracked a battery theft case reported in Sullia and recovered five stolen batteries from an accused who was already in judicial custody in connection with multiple theft cases.

According to police, five batteries were stolen from three vehicles parked within the Sullia Police Station limits on the night of May 14, 2026. A case was registered at the Sullia Police Station, and an investigation was launched.

The accused, Abdul Majid (33), a resident of Kasaragod, Kerala, was already in judicial custody after being named in five separate theft cases registered at the Vittla Police Station.

On July 20, Sullia police secured the accused in police custody for interrogation. During questioning, they recovered the five batteries stolen from the Sullia jurisdiction.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
