Yet another train robbery; this time in West Coast Express

Mangalore, March 11, 2013 : It yet another case of train robbery, valuables including gold and cash was stolen from the vanity bag of a Puttur origin woman who was travelling in the Mangalore bound West Coast Express on March 9, Saturday night.

It is learnt, the woman named Deepa Prabhu who hailed from Puttur, but was residing in Kozhikode was travelling with her two year old son in the train. Before sleeping, she had placed her jewels and cash of Rs 5000 in her vanity bag which she had placed under her head. However, when she woke up at around 4.30 in the morning, she found the jewels and cash missing.

Deepa complained with the Railway police after the train reached Mangalore. The case has been transferred to Kasargod police station as the theft is learnt to have taken place when the train was somewhere near Kasargod.
