Mangalore, March 9, 2013 : In a latest case of train robbery, an unidentified man snatched the vanity bag of a woman from Thane who was travelling in the Matsyagandha Express bound to Mangalore from Mumbai. The bag contained jewellery cash, all worth around Rs 8 lakh.
The theft occurred on March 8, Friday at around 6 am when the train reached the Honnavar station.
The woman named Prema was travelling in the train along with her husband Gopal Naik when the incident occurred. They were travelling in the S4 compartment. As per a complaint lodged with the Railway police, the bag contained gold jewellery, pan card, Rs 20,000 cash and other documents.
Honnavar police are conducting the investigations.
