Flaying the Pejawar Seer, he said that the swamiji should be given Dalit Dheekshe. Referring to the swamiji’s statement that he will give Maadhva Dheekshe to Dalits, he said that the mutt still adopts a separate seating system at lunch time, illustrating that it practices untouchability.

Criticizing the district administration and the state government, he said that those who assaulted Shivaram, the backward class leader, will easily get bail because of the government’s callousness. He warned the concerned officials to ban the tradition by the following year, failing which they would campaign against it.

Pattabhirama Somayaji, the convener of the Komu Souharda Vedike district committee, said that upper class people feed beliefs into the minds of poor, humble people. He spoke of the importance of protesting against this act. He also urged the government to realize that there are people who oppose this ritual and criticized Dr. V. S. Acharya, the muzrai minister, for expressing support of the ritual.
