Mangaluru: Man arrested after evading court for eight years

Mangaluru, Aug 29, 2026: City East police have arrested a 45-year-old man who had been absconding for the past eight years for failing to appear before the court.
The accused has been identified as Muaz, a resident of Hilarinagar near Mukkacheri. Police said he had been staying in Irikkur, Kerala.
A case had been registered against Muaz at the Mangaluru East police station. As he repeatedly failed to appear before the court, he remained absconding, following which the court issued an LPC (Long Pending Case) warrant against him.
Acting on the warrant, Mangaluru East police traced and arrested Muaz and produced him before the court.
