Vijaya Bank celebrates 81st Founder’s Day

Mangalore, October 23, 2011: Sudhakar Shetty M., the deputy manager of Vijaya Bank Mangalore issued a press note stating that the bank celebrated its 81st Founders Day on Oct 23, 2011 at a special function held in the regional office.

MLA Yogesh Bhat, ZP CEO Dr. K. N. Vijaya Prakash, Ex MP and Director of Vijaya Bank Shri B. Ibrahim, and Deputy General Manager of Vijaya Bank Sudhakar Shetty, along with a number of guests, well-wishers, and staff members of the bank, participated in the event.

A bank has a number of social achievements to its credit. As its corporate social responsibility, it repaired and renovated the AB Shetty Circle at Pandeshwar at the cost of Rs. 40 lakh. The bank also established the computer training centre for the under privileged at Vijaya Tower on LHH Road Mangalore. The centre offers 3-month courses free of charge. The bank also set up 2 bus shelters at Kaikamba – Polali Cross and Dhanupuje, a rural health centre at Dhanupuje, and a rural girl child from Tenkabellur.
