Udupi: One-and-a-Half-Year-Old Girl Dies After Falling into Well

Udupi, Dec 16, 2025: A one-and-a-half-year-old girl died after accidentally falling into a well at Kinnimulki in Udupi on Monday.
According to police, the incident occurred when the child’s mother, Nayana, was drawing water from a well near their house while holding her daughter, Kirthana. During this time, the toddler reportedly slipped from her arms and fell into the well.
The mother immediately descended into the well with the help of a rope and managed to retrieve the child. However, the baby had already died by the time she was rescued.
PSI Bharatesh Kankanawadi of the Udupi Town police station visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Further details are awaited.
