Udupi, Dec 28, 2011 : ’Feliz Navidad’, a Christmas gala event was organized by ’Eventz Redefined’ in association with Milagreans Gulf Association at the Milagres School grounds, Kallianpur recently. This event was a brainchild of two dynamic stars of Kallianpur - Vinay Lewis and Prajoth D’Sa, whose mission it was to provide a platform for the young budding artists of Kallianpur.

 

Vinay Lewis and Prajoth D’Sa along with Nelson Lewis and Harriet Braganza were the main performers for the evening. They were supported by the new talents - Diana D’Souza, Karen Sequeira, Rhea D’Souza, Nisha Crasta, Shiny Rodrigues and Waylon Machado.

 

 

 

 

 

The event was inaugurated and blessed by the parish priest of Milagres Church, Fr Stany Lobo. To mark the Christmas celebrations, Fr Stany Lobo cut the cake along with the vice-president of parish Council, Leslie Lewis and the organizers Vinay and Prajoth. A meaningful Christmas message was conveyed to all by the parish priest. Santa Claus entertained the crowd with loads of goodies and chocolates. Prizes of the Star, Crib and Elocution competitions were given away on this occasion, for the competitions organized by the Catholic Sabha of Milagres church Kallianpur.

The first song of the evening, ‘’Chandnyachya Raathi’’ a duet sung by Prajoth D’Sa and Harriet Braganza gave a tremendous kickstart to the event. This was followed by other super hit numbers like Wilson Olivera’s ‘’Tujya Galancher’’ sung by Nelson Lewis, Lorna’s ’Bebdo’ sung by Belinda Lewis and a group song ’Ami Mathiyenth Liploli Tharan’ sung by budding singers - Karen, Nisha ,Shiny and Rhea. All these performances were definitely commendable.

’Neelya Gaganar’, A Solo number performed by Vinay Lewis, The golden boy of Kallianpur and the winner of 1st Gulf Voice of Mangalore was indeed a super energetic performance! Few couples from the crowd danced to the melody of ’Tu Mujya Mogacho’, a romantic waltz track sung by Harriet.

Prajoth D’Sa, a new sensation in Konkani music, left the audience spellbound with his soulful rendition of ’Kenna Kenna’, a song which won the best lyrics award at the Global Konkani Music Awards. Another duet, ’Chandrem Udevn Ailo’ by Vinay Lewis and Diana D’Souza was truly appreciated by the audience. A foot tapping trio ’Mujya Muklya Sasumai’ sung by Vinay-Nelson-Waylon rocked the stage.

A reggae version of ’Rosaline Mujya Mogachen’ and the super duper ‘Remo’licious ’Ye Nari Ye’ sung by the dazzling duo-Vinay Lewis and Prajoth D’Sa were the star performances of the evening. The singers were accompanied by extremely talented elite musicians, Cloy Carvallo, Raj Gopal, Dolwin, Tony and Wedson.

Hector Lewis and his team with their rib-tickling comedy made the crowd roar with laughter. The show also included sizzling dance performances by the young ’Sparkling Guys’ from Kallianpur.

Prajwal D’Sa, with his unique anchoring style gave the event a ’Never seen before’ touch. Several spot games conducted by Prajwal with some fabulous prizes, created a lively ambience throughout the program.

Main attraction of the event was solo Drums performance of young Abin. Abin is a talented percussionist at his very young age of 10 years. His outstanding performance brought India’s best Shivamani in audience’s mind and made them clap their hands for every beat he played.

’Rockerz Age’ a new musical website (www.rockerzage.com) by a Milagrean Ronson Lewis was introduced to the crowd. The motto of the website is to introduce any new musical bands to the world of music and give them free publicity during their launch.
