Anekal, Sep 11, 2026: The details surrounding the mobile phone allegedly used by former MP Prajwal Revanna inside Parappana Agrahara Central Prison have come to light, with an FIR registered against seven people suspected of helping him obtain and use the device.
When police investigated the mobile phone and SIM card recovered from the prison, they traced their source to the DJ Halli area. An FIR has now been registered against seven persons, including Pratap Rao, Tauseef, Siddiq, Prakash and Manjunath. Police are continuing their investigation.
Prajwal Revanna, who is serving a life sentence in a rape case, had allegedly used the mobile phone inside his prison barrack. A jail warden and Siddiq and Taufiq, who are accused in the KG Halli and DJ Halli violence cases, are suspected of assisting him in obtaining the phone.
According to the investigation, Taufiq, whom Prajwal had befriended in prison, purchased the mobile phone while he was admitted to Jayanagar Hospital for treatment. A SIM card was subsequently obtained in Siddiq’s name and allegedly used inside the prison.
Prajwal is suspected of having paid ₹1 lakh for the mobile phone and ₹50,000 for the SIM card.
Police found that the SIM card had been purchased in Punganur, Andhra Pradesh. Analysis of the call details reportedly revealed that calls had been made to several young women and family members.
