Mangaluru, Nov 5, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a large-scale march and public meeting in Mangaluru on Friday, November 6, as part of its campaign titled ‘Save Democracy – Eradicate Anarchy’. The party expects more than 20,000 participants from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, including around 5,000 people from Mangaluru South constituency.
The campaign is aimed at countering what the BJP describes as misinformation being spread by the Congress over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The party said the initiative seeks to provide accurate information to the public, particularly the youth, and expose what it termed attempts to create unrest across the country.
The march will begin at 3 pm from the Mini Vidhana Soudha near Clock Tower and proceed towards Kadri Grounds, accompanied by traditional Kunitha Bhajane performances, Nashik bands and chende ensembles. A public meeting will be held at Kadri Ground after the march.
Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Malayalam film actor Suresh Gopi, along with Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, are expected to participate in the programme.
The BJP said a large number of young people, along with members of the public from various fields, would take part in the campaign.
