Belthangady, Sep 12, 2026: A nearly 12-foot-long king cobra was rescued from a residential garden in Kadinga, Tenka Karandur village of Belthangady taluk, after it was found in the process of swallowing a python.
The snake was spotted in the garden of Hitesh’s house on Friday evening, September 11. The family alerted Layila-based snake rescuer Ashok, who arrived at the spot and assessed the situation.
Taking necessary precautions, Ashok carried out the rescue operation. During the operation, the king cobra regurgitated the python it had swallowed.
The cobra was subsequently rescued safely and released into a forested area.
