CJP calls for KPSC overhaul, plans student campaign across Karnataka

Bengaluru, Sep 12, 2026: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Friday called for an overhaul of the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) recruitment system and announced plans to mobilise students over alleged irregularities in state-level competitive examinations.

CJP co-convenor Ashutosh Ranka said the organisation had begun meeting student delegations over complaints related to recruitment examinations and would stand with candidates affected by alleged paper leaks.

“Some of these state service commissions really need an overhaul,” Ranka said during a press interaction in Bengaluru. He added that concerns over examination systems were not confined to Karnataka, with students in states such as Maharashtra also seeking reforms in public service recruitment.

Referring to the veterinary officer examination, Ranka said CJP had received complaints from students alleging demands for money in connection with recruitment. He said an inquiry was underway and that the organisation was monitoring the developments.

“We will not let this government get away with any more exam scams,” he said.

Ranka said CJP had met student delegations linked to the veterinary officer and paralegal examinations. The organisation now plans to move beyond meetings with delegations and mobilise students on the ground.

The party also announced plans to expand its activities across Karnataka through a campaign covering all 31 districts, with the aim of strengthening accountability and building a decentralised organisation.

CJP’s school assessment campaign has also highlighted concerns over sanitation and infrastructure in government schools in Bengaluru. Ranka said he visited four schools in Yeshwanthpur, Varthur, Marathahalli and JP Nagar over two days.

Responding to questions on whether the assessment was limited to Bengaluru, Ranka said teams were already visiting government schools in other parts of Karnataka. He appealed to residents to report government schools in their localities that they consider unsafe or poorly maintained.
