Udupi: Two minor children rescued after being confined to home in Udyavara

Udupi, Sep 12, 2026: Two minor children who had been confined to their home and had stopped attending school due to family-related issues were rescued in Udyavara on September 10.


Childrens rescue

Acting on credible information, social worker Nityananda Olakadu, along with Prajwal and Ramya from the District Child Protection Unit, personnel from the Special Juvenile Police Unit, and Rakshitha and Vanitha of the Akkapade team, visited the house and rescued the children.

The rescued children were produced before the Udupi Child Welfare Committee. Based on the committee’s order, they have been provided temporary rehabilitation at the Government Boys’ Children’s Home in Doddanagudde, Udupi.
