Udupi: Biker crushed to death under lorry on NH-66

Udupi, Jan 23, 2026: A bike rider was killed in a tragic road accident after being crushed under the wheels of a goods lorry near Uppoor KG Road on National Highway 66 on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Abhishek, a resident of Matapady in Brahmavar. The impact of the collision was so severe that the rider’s body was badly mutilated.
The accident caused major traffic disruption along the highway. The body was torn apart after coming under the lorry’s tyre.
Brahmavar police station head constable Mahalinga visited the spot and carried out the necessary mahazar proceedings. With the help of social worker Nityananda Olkadu and a Brahmavar ambulance driver, the body was shifted to the district hospital mortuary at Ajjarakadu for post-mortem examination.
Further investigation is underway.
