U T Khader Directs Officials to Repair Potholes Before Monsoon

Mangaluru, May 10, 2026: Speaker U.T. Khader on Saturday said that the Public Works Department and National Highways Department have been directed to fill all potholes on roads before the onset of the monsoon.

Addressing media persons, he said members of the public can photograph unattended potholes on major roads and send them via WhatsApp to the Deputy Commissioner, the District In-charge Minister, or directly to him.

Khader said potholes should not cause inconvenience to commuters and noted that bitumen is currently available for repair works. He directed officials of the concerned departments to immediately take up pothole filling works.

He also warned that officials would be held responsible if potholes create problems for the public during the rainy season and said departments cannot later cite shortage of bitumen as an excuse.
