Two Interstate Drug Peddlers Arrested in Bajpe; Ganja Seized

Mangaluru, Jan 4, 2025: Bajpe police on Saturday arrested two interstate accused for allegedly selling ganja after transporting the contraband by train from Bihar to Mangaluru.

The arrested have been identified as Sunil Kumar (40) of Khagaria district in Bihar and Brijesh Shrivastav (42) of Chunar in Mirzapur district, Uttar Pradesh. Both were staying at Krishnapura in Katipalla.

Police said the duo was apprehended while attempting to sell ganja on the roadside near Shantigudde Cross, within Bajpe police station limits. Acting on specific information, a raid was conducted, leading to their arrest and the seizure of about one kilogram of ganja.

During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to procuring the ganja in Bihar and transporting it to Mangaluru by train, primarily to sell it to migrant labourers from northern India.

A case has been registered at Bajpe police station, and further investigation is in progress.
