Team Mangalore to participate in Dubai International Kite Festival

Mangalore, Jan 8, 2012: Team Mangalore, a group of avid kite fliers based in Mangalore, have been invited to participate in the Dubai International Kite Festival, scheduled to be held on Jan 13 at Dubai Outlet Mall in Dubai, the first event of its kind to be organized in the UAE. 

Internationally acclaimed kite fliers will display their kites at this event, and Team Mangalore, comprising Arun Amin, Sarvesh Rao, and Harish Kodialbail, will participate in this event. The festival will also comprise a number of workshops where people can learn everything they wanted to know about kites.

Team Mangalore has participated in a number of international kite festivals in Canada, France, UK, Korea, and Thailand. Recently, they displayed their kites at the international kite flying event in Shri Lanka, where their Pushpaka Vimana became very popular. 

In the Udaipur International Kite Festival held in Udaipur last year, they won the first prize in the unique kite design category.
Team Mangalore also participated in the kite festival held as part of the World Kannada Sammelana in Nanawadi in Belgaum last year, and this year, they were invited to participate in the Begaum International Kite Festival. 

The team will present a wide range of kites such as Kathakkali, widely acclaimed to be the largest kite in India, along with a number of other unique kites such as Durga, Yakshagana, Charlie, Owl, Bird, Bat, Bharathanatyam, Gajaraja, and others. 

Team Mangalore will organize the ONGC-MRPL International Kite Festival 2012 on Jan 21 – 22 on Panambur Beach for the 4th team.
