Bantwal, Jul 03, 2023: A marital discord is suspected to be the reason behind the suicide attempt of a couple at Bakila in Anantady village resulting in the death of the man. The woman is recovering in the hospital.

A case has been registered based on the complaint by Pradeep who is the brother of the deceased Pratap.

Pratap was a bus driver by profession and lived with his wife and twin children. However, the couple were resorting to frequent quarrel of late and one such quarrel reportedly culminated in Pratap hanging himself. Seeing this, even Veena hanged herself but she was rescued on time.
