Mysuru, July 18, 2025: Mysuru is recognised as the cleanest city among the cities with a population between 3 and 10 lakh in Swachh Super League 2024-25. This is a newly introduced initiative under the Swachh Survekshan framework of the Swachh Bharat Mission - Urban (SBM-U) of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif received the award from President of India Draupadi Murmu at Swachh Survekshan Awards ceremony in Delhi on Thursday. Mysuru shared the rank with Chandigarh, Noida, Ujjain, Gandhinagar and Guntur.
Assistant Executive Engineer Mruthyunjaya explained that the Swachh Super League includes cities that have demonstrated consistent top performance in the past Swachh Survekshan editions and secured good rankings over the years in terms of urban cleanliness, sanitation, and waste management. However, cities in the Super League are expected to maintain high standards year after year.
Mysuru bagged the cleanest city award in 2016. In 2023, Mysuru stood second among cities with 3 lakh to 10 lakh population.
