Kundapur: Four arrested for shop theft near Santhe Market; stolen metal recovered

Kundapur, Jul 19, 2025: In a case of burglary, four individuals have been arrested for breaking open the shutter of a shop near the Santhe Market in Kundapur around 2:30 AM on July 14 and stealing copper wires and brass items worth ₹95,000.

The arrested have been identified as Sarfaraz (33), Zakir (36), and Mohammad Alfaz (26) from Mangaluru, and Mohammad Riyaz (44) from Manjanady.

Theft

Police recovered the stolen items from the accused, including 50 kg and 34 kg copper wires, 64 kg of brass materials, 20 kg of aluminium objects, a fridge compressor, 45 old mobile phones, and the car used for the crime.

The operation was carried out by Kundapur Town Police, with sub-inspectors Nanja Naik, Pushpa, traffic SI Nuthan, and staff members Mohan, Santosh, Prince, Nagesh, Mahabala, Revathi, Ghanshyam, and Satish.
