Kundapur, July 18, 2025: Three suspected Naxals, including B.G. Krishnamurthy who is currently under judicial custody in jails in Bengaluru and Kerala, were produced before the Additional District and Sessions Court in Kundapur on Thursday amid tight security.
The accused – B.G. Krishnamurthy and Savitri alias Usha, lodged at the Viyyur Central Jail in Kerala, and Vanajakshi, lodged at the Bengaluru Central Prison – were brought to court on body warrants and presented before the judge.
There are seven cases registered against Krishnamurthy, five against Savitri, and three against Vanajakshi. All the cases fall under the jurisdiction of Shankaranarayana, Kollur, and Amasebail police stations in the Kundapur sub-division.
As per the court’s directive requiring their personal appearance, the accused were brought before the court. Hearings for these cases are scheduled to begin on August 27.
Security and escort arrangements were managed by teams from the Bengaluru Central Prison and Kerala’s Viyyur Central Jail, under the leadership of Kundapur DySP H.D. Kulkarni.
