Udupi: Pedestrian dies after being hit by bike on NH-66

Udupi, December 10, 2025: A pedestrian died on the spot after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing the road near Uchila Mosque on National Highway 66 late Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Ronald D’Souza (67) from Kinnigoli.
According to reports, a bike travelling from Uchila towards Kapu collided with Ronald D’Souza as he was crossing the road. The impact threw him onto the road, causing severe injuries. He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Udupi, but despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.
Social workers Jalaluddin Uchila and Hanif assisted in shifting the injured man to the hospital using the SDPI ambulance.
A case has been registered at the Padubidri Police Station.
