Bengaluru, June 12, 2025: Author, philanthropist and Rajya Sabha Member Sudha Murty was conferred with the Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Foundation Award 2025 for her remarkable contributions to literature and social service.
The award ceremony took place at the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology campus in Bengaluru on Wednesday, June 11th.
N. Vinaya Hegde, President of the Nitte Education Trust and Chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University, commended Ms. Murty’s unwavering commitment to rural development, describing her as an embodiment of K.S. Hegde’s vision. N. Santosh Hegde, former Supreme Court judge and Karnataka Lokayukta, praised her efforts in empowering women and youth, highlighting her lasting impact on society.
In her acceptance speech, Ms. Murty emphasized the impermanence of material wealth and the enduring value of societal contributions. “Only the sacrifices we make for society will truly last,” she remarked, inspiring the audience with her message.
The Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Foundation, established to honor the legacy of K.S. Hegde—former Supreme Court judge and Speaker of the Lok Sabha—annually recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to society.
