St. Theresa School management condemns recent attack

Mangalore, Oct 23, 2011:Bethany Educational Society Secretary Sr. Rose Celine addressed a press conference at St. Theresa School on Oct 23 Sunday and said that the school management is deeply disturbed by the recent attack on the school. 


Lynette Fernandes, the former vice president of the Parents Teachers’ Association said that the attack was planned with the intention of damaging the statue of St. Theresa, adding that the management strongly condemns the act.

Speaking about the policies of the school, she said that there are 1300 students and 60 staff members and that the school imparts quality education according to ICSE syllabus. She said that 3 unidentified persons arrived on a motorbike without number plates and threw bricks at the school.
She urged the district administration and the police to identify these miscreants, voicing her suspicion that the attack must have been planned in advance because of the timing. She said that everybody involved should be punished. 


She also revealed that the school has been attacked on Feb 20, 2007 and also on Nov 20, 2009.


The Kadri Police have registered a case. 


Rose Saldanha, the vice president of the PTA, Nagesh Kumar, Vani Shetty, and Gulshan were also present.
