Sports Minister honours special students of St Agnes for their achievement

Mangalore, Jan 20, 2014: Minister for sports and youth affair K Abhaychandra Jain said that the state government has sanctioned funds to all special schools in the state from the current year.

He was speaking to the special children at St Agnes Special School on Jan 20, Monday. Jain also said that government has sanctioned the amount of Rs 15 lakh each for all the special schools in the state and measures will be taken to increase the fund in the next annual budget.

He also said that the special student who will excel in sports field will be honoured with the cash prize of Rs 1 lakh.

During the occasion, Jain honoured specially abled Danan Saldanha and Moideen Thazman, students of St Agnes Special School who represented Indian cricket team in the Special Olympics Asia Pacific Regional Games held in Newcastle, Australia. He also distributed Rs 65,000 each to Danan, Moideen and Rs 25,000 to coach Narayan for their achievement.
