Sophisticated imaging machines inaugurated in KMC Hospital

Mangalore, Sep 11: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar jointly inaugurated the 1.5 Tesla Seimens Avanto Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine and the GE Bright Speed Multislice CT machine for the department of radiodiagnosis and imaging at KMC Hospital today. 

Dr. H. S. Ballal, the pro chancellor of Manipal University; Major General Dr. G. Rajagopal, the dean of KMC Mangalore; Dr. Sunil Deshpande, the senior vice president of operations KMC Mangalore; Dr. Ajith Mahale, the head of the department of radiodiagnosis and imaging at KMC Hospital; Dr. Anand Venugopal, the deputy medical superintendent of KMC Hospital; Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Circle Mangalore; and Dr. Madhusudhan Upadya, the deputy medical superintendent of KMC Hospital Attavar, were also present. 

Delivering the inaugural address, Major General Dr. G. Rajagopal spoke of the importance of modern facilities and said that the hospital is glad to provide such facilities for the people of Mangalore.

The 1.5 Tesla Seimens Avanto Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine is imported from Germany and can deliver high quality images. Some of the benefits of this machine include faster imaging, greater comfort for patients, whole body imaging, TIM whole spine and body, ideal for uncooperative patients and kids, topnotch joint imaging, abdominal imaging in case of renal failure, and many more.

Imported from the USA, its benefits include quick scanning, whole body imaging in the shortest possible time, vascular imaging, high resolution images for small body parts such as inner and middle ear, three dimensional reconstruction of bones, cardiac screening, and others.
