Mangalore, Feb 16: Addressing thousands of followers at Mangala Sandhya, a maha satsang, organized at Mangala Stadium on Feb 16, Wednesday, Shri Shri Ravishankar Guruji said that people must keep themselves informed, which will make them very powerful. He also spoke of the different levels of the universe and the human body and added that he was eager to speak in Kannada and spread spiritual messages among Kannada-speaking people.

He was escorted to the dais with a Poorna Kumbha accompanied by chende artistes, Yakshagana artistes, folk dance groups, and cultural troupes.

When his devotees offered him sweets, honey, and flowers, Guruji said that he would like to accept their problems and sufferings instead of such sweet gifts. Stating that the world is literally throbbing with life, he urged his followers to feel the life within everything. Speaking about the importance of divine blessings, he said that without God’s blessings, people will suffer in life. He also said that saints and scholars have achieved the state of divinity by gaining spiritual power through meditation.

Speaking about the importance of necessity and responsibility, he said that happiness can be achieved if people give more importance to responsibility and less for necessity. He said that human beings should become childlike to gain satisfaction in life and urged people to work hard for the welfare of their country instead of living lives devoid of achievement. He said that people will find meaning in life by fighting against corruption and working to keep the city clean and green. He stressed the importance of attempting to eradicate Slum India and Scam India and create a Spiritual India.

He also lamented that farmers in India suffer a lot owing to corruption although India ranks first in the world in the production of wheat, rice, vegetables, and milk.

Guruji also launched the “Swachcha Mangalore” project, which aims at creating a clean and green Mangalore.

Local artists also presented a Yakshagana prasanga in the Badagatittu and Tenkatittu style and a Bengali folk art called “Puruliya Chaav.”
