Mangalore, Dec 10, 2013 : Renowned cinematographer, director and producer Sundernath Suvarna passed away on December 10, Tuesday morning. He was 60 and ailing since some time.
Suvarna who was a well-known cinematographer,was a part of Kannada film industry for four decades and has worked for over 150 films. Some of his famous films are Om, Nammoora Mandara Hoove, Anuraga Sangama and Lock-up Death. He has also directed nearly ten films including Chandu, Kiladi Thatha, Kaliyuga Bheema and Tiger Gang.
His cinematography skills had also contributed to the success of Tulu film ‘Bangar Patler.’ He was honoured with several awards including the Rajyotsava Award.
Suvarna is survived by his wife, three daughters, seven brothers and three sisters. His family home is at Ballalbagh in Mangalore. His brother Naveen Suvarna has informed that the mortal remains will be brought to Mangalore and the last rites will be held on Tuesday evening.
