Puttur, Oct 7: A group of four men from Kemminje were caught when they were moving a pangolin in an Omni vehicle.

The arrested are William, Jerald, Praveen, and Norbert.
Pangolins, also known as Trenggiling or Scaly Anteater, are eaten in several parts of Africa. The Chinese consider their meat to be a delicacy, owing to which they are in great demand in China. The Chinese also believe that the scales of pangolins have medicinal value.
Pangolins are a rare sight in these areas and just one was found in Manipal a few years back.
