Bantwal: Motorcyclist dies after head-on collision with car on NH-75

Bantwal, Jul 6, 2026: A 34-year-old motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries after a serious road accident near Narahari Parvatha at Bolangady, close to Melkar on the Panemangaluru–Melkar stretch, on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Ashok (34), a resident of Puttur. The accident occurred on National Highway 75 when a Maruti car and a motorcycle collided.

According to preliminary information, the motorcycle, which was allegedly travelling in the wrong direction in violation of the one-way traffic rule, collided head-on with a Maruti car that was proceeding towards BC Road. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving both the car and the motorcycle extensively damaged.

Ashok sustained critical injuries in the accident and was rushed to a nearby hospital by local residents. However, he succumbed to his injuries despite medical treatment.

Police from the Bantwal Traffic Police Station visited the spot, conducted an inspection, and have initiated further investigation into the incident.
