Mangaluru, November 24, 2025: “Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will unveil 77 ft Sri Rama Statue at Gokarn Parthagali Jeevotham Math on November 28, 2025” said Sri. Mukund Kamath, Joint- Convenor of the Sardha Pancha Shatamanotsava Committee in a press conference at Mangaluru. The historic Gokarna Partagali Shrimad Jeevottam Math, one of the oldest maths of the Gowda Saraswat Brahmin community, is all set to celebrate its 550th foundation year with the “Saardha Pancha Shatamanotsava” (550th anniversary festival).


The 11-day religious, spiritual, cultural, and social extravaganza will be held at the central math in Partagali (near Canacona, Goa) from November 27 to December 7, 2025 (from Margashirsha Shukla Saptami to Margashirsha Krishna Tritiya).

Speaking at a press conference in Mangaluru on Monday, the Convenor of the Sardha Pancha Shatamanotsava Committee, Sri Pradeep Pai, said the math’s Guru Parampara was established in 1475 CE (Manmatha Nama Samvatsara, Chaitra Shukla Dwitiya) by Shrimad Narayan Tirtha Swamiji at Shri Kshetra Badarikashram. The principal deity, Sri Ramadevar, was consecrated by the pontiff of Udupi Shri Palimar Math. Since then, 23 pontiffs have headed the math. The current pontiff, His Holiness Shrimad Vidyadheesh Shripad Vader Swamiji, continues to guide devotees.
To immortalise this historic milestone, the entire math complex has undergone extensive renovation and beautification under the visionary leadership of the present Swamiji, Pai added.
550 Crore Rama Naama Japa and Sri Rama Rath Yatra
Sri. Mukund Kamath informed that, to mark the 550th year, His Holiness had resolved to complete more than 550 crore recitations of the Sri Rama Taraka Maha Mantra. The nationwide “Shri Rama Naama Japa Abhiyan” began on Ram Navami (April 17, 2024) and continued uninterrupted until October 18, 2024, through 120 main centres and 104 sub-centres across the country.
A grand Sri Rama Rath Yatra that started from Badarikashram has visited various pilgrimage centres and will reach Karwar shortly. The chariot will enter the Partagali Math on November 26.
The math administration has appealed to devotees to participate in large numbers to witness the renovated premises and the rich heritage of the institution.
