Over 100 people participated in Maruthi Suzuki Auto Cross 2012

Mangalore, Jan 8, 2012: The second edition of Maruthi Suzuki Auto Cross 2012, a national event organized by Mangalore Motor Sports Association, was organized on Bharat High School Grounds in Ullal this weekend. The first edition of this event was held on Oct 15 – 16, 2011. 

Speaking on the event, Mangalore Motor Sports Association President Sudhir B. K. said that the distance of the dirt track was approximately 1km for 2-wheelers with 5 – 7 laps per class while it was 2 laps for all classes for 4-wheelers. He also said that electronic laser time was implemented for autocross.

Over a 100 people from major cities such as Mysore, Mangalore, Chikmagalur, Coorg, Hassan, Shimoga, and Mudigere participated in this event. 

Baban Khan of Bangalore, Aroor Vikram Rao, Aroor Arjun Rao, Dean Mascarenhas Top Team of Mudigere, Mohammed Adnan, Siddhanth Nayak, Shruptha Padival, and Sudeepan participated in this event. 

Speaking of his experience, one of the participants said that the dirt track contained too many pebbles and that it was not easy. He also said that the track design is excellent. 

The chief sponsor of the event was Maruthi Suzuki India Ltd. and the co-sponsors are Castrol, K and N Filter, JK Tyres, IMG Sports, and Mandovi Motors.
