Outrage over viral social media post mocking Sulya MLA Bhagirathi Murulya; BJP demands arrest

Mangaluru, January 8, 2026: A Facebook account named Billava Sandesh shared the post using the image of Sulya MLA Bhagirathi Murulya. The post allegedly ridiculed and insulted her. It has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation.

The viral post reads: “Dalit community MLA Bhagirathi Murulya, instead of standing for the oppressed Dalit community, has distanced herself from everyone today. We offer a heartfelt tribute and pray that God gives her distancing power to BJP workers.”

Currently, the post has gone viral, and BJP leaders are demanding the arrest of the person behind the Billava Sandesh account. In connection with the case, the Sulya BJP Mahila Morcha has filed a complaint at the Sulya Police Station, requesting the arrest of the individual who made the post. BJP leaders have also appealed to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dakshina Kannada, to take action.
