Moodbidri, June 19, 2023: An engineering student has ended his life at his residence here on June 18, Sunday.

The deceased is Sathvik Bhandary (20), son of Suresh Bhandary, the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of a polytechnic college in the town.

Sathvik who was pursuing engineering at a college in Nitte was reportedly agitated after his parents woke him up and asked him to study for the exams which were nearing.

Sathvik it is learnt later locked the door and hanged himself from the ceiling fan with the help of a shawl.

Moodbidri police have registered a case.
