Udupi, Sep 19, 2025: The Udupi Town Police have registered a case against a home nurse accused of stealing gold and diamond jewellery worth around ₹15 lakh.
The complaint was lodged by Namrata (54), a resident of Bengaluru, whose mother Nagamalini resides in a flat near Ajjarkad Park. Nagamalini, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital, had hired Jacintha as a home nurse on July 13, 2025.
Between July 13 and July 18, Jacintha allegedly stole jewellery kept in a purse, including a 20-gram gold bangle embedded with diamonds worth about ₹8 lakh, and a 44-gram gold chain with a diamond-studded pendant valued at ₹7 lakh.
In total, jewellery worth ₹15 lakh was reported stolen. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
