Kasaragod, Sep 3, 2025: Kerala police have arrested a 27-year-old woman for allegedly abducting a 17-year-old boy and taking him to Kollur, where they were found staying together in a lodge.
The arrested woman, identified as Sanusha, a married resident of Cherthala, Kerala, is facing charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The case was registered following a complaint from the boy’s family, who alleged she had taken the minor away for sexual gratification.
According to police, both the woman and the boy were reported missing two days ago, with both of their families filing separate missing person complaints. The initial investigation was hampered as the two did not use their mobile phones during their travel, leaving no electronic trail for the police to follow.
The breakthrough in the case came after the pair reached Kollur. Sanusha used her phone to send a message to a friend, which provided the police with the crucial clue to their whereabouts. Acting on this information, police located them at a lodge in Kollur.
Following the arrest, Sanusha has been remanded to judicial custody and sent to Kottarakkara jail. The minor boy has been safely returned to his parents.
