Manipal: Parents stage protest outside school; seek explanation on sexual abuse of 4 yr girl

Udupi, Sept 23, 2013: The case of alleged sexual assault of a four year old nursery student of Madhavakripa School of Manipal, by three employees of the school bus, is heating up with agitated parents staging a protest in front of the school premises on September 23, Monday.

Parents wanted an explanation from the management and alleged neither the principal nor any authorities from the management were willing to do so. Even Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj who arrived, said the management was unresponsive and added in such an event, the DC will be requested to summon the principal and the management to seek their explanation.

A complaint was also heard from a few that the school never convened parent-teachers meeting despite requests.

Meanwhile, the two arrested Shubhakumar and Sudhir were produced before the District Court on Monday. The court has remanded them to judicial custody till October 5.
